CONFIDENCE: 7 TIPS TO HAVE OPRAH LIKE CONFIDENCE
Oprah comes to most of our minds when we think about being powerfully confident in business and life. We’d love to have her strength but are we willing to put in the work and adjust our mindsets to enjoy her lifestyle?
You do want to be confident like Oprah don’t you?
Here are some tips on how to be more Oprahish:
#1. See Yourself with Your Own Eyes
Who you are being right now is based on how you see yourself. This self image is initially constructed from how others have and do see you, how you’ve been treated and are treated now and from all the conclusions you have drawn from these experiences as well as how you have compared yourself to others. A Powerful self viewpoint is based on your Essential Being, not from the value placed on you by other people. You can reform your inner image to align with your true self and have a regular quiet deep gladness about who you are. Become aware of the past programming that has created the person you are being now.
#2. Love Yourself With Your Own Heart
Be the supplier of the love you need, other people can’t complete this task or fill this tank. To become a master of loving yourself you have to practice loving yourself. The real you is pure love. The real you is confident and self assured draw this strength out of you by practicing love for yourself.
#3. Trust in A Higher Power – Believe in God
Know that there is a power greater than yourself and get to know that power. Spend time in solitude, take a walk through nature, worship with praise music, go for a run, do whatever it is that brings you close to the Source of Life, God and be still inside and feel the love and strength in that connection.
#4. Pleasure Yourself
Reconnect with what delights you. Especially if your a woman. Men don’t seem to have this problem of doing what feels good without guilt or shame. Engaging in things that bring you pleasure is a necessary ingredient for confidence. The desire you feel is an initiating force that will propel the speed of your goals, dreams and wishes. Indulging in pleasure is fortifying.
Look at your life through the lens of being on a journey instead of on a path to reach a particular destination. Consider the events, situations and circumstances of your life as experiences that show you who you are and that give you the opportunity to decide if what you see if what you’d like to keep. This defuses the power of self criticism and self doubt.
#6. Trust Your Gut
You know what is right for you and don’t need anyone to teach you. When everyone else is trying to tell you what you should do and what you shouldn’t do trust your gut. Develop your intuition by following your gut. Your gut will never lead you wrong. Trust you gut more than anyone’s opinion.
#7. Open Your Mind to the Possibilities
Know that you are not trapped or stuck. Get educated about spirituality, quantum physics, faith etc. Read the bible, read books that expand your consciousness and teach you who you are and how to work universal laws and surrender to the innate capabilities within you. Find out what all possibilities are out there and take authority over your life experience.

As women, I think we’re really bad at #4, Pleasure Yourself. A lot of us have lost touch with what that even means or what we find pleasurable. And even if we have a clue, pleasure tends to get pushed to the bottom of the list.
That and loving ourselves unconditionally.
Thank you for this post!
Oooh pleasuring yourself, sounds naughty doesn’t it. We look at this word or concept as a tabu but it is a key to getting what we want. We have to know what it we want and honor that in order to bring it to manifestation in our lives. I agree with you also about loving ourselves unconditionally, we will allow pleasure in our lives if we value ourselves by loving ourselves unconditionally. Thanks for replying.
Viewing life as a journey was recently something new I discovered. I always thought I had to arrive! Now that I view life as journey, I’m not stressing as much. Great Article.
Blessings Lorraine, (from Gold)
Yes Lorraine, stress does diminish, at least negative stress when we change our perspective on how we are living life. Glad you made the shift, I bet it shows big time in your life. Thanks for replying.
Great post Lana. It’s so true that confidence has to come from inside of us and our own viewpoint and self-love help to shape that. I loved the ‘see life as a journey’ tip and how it can help to eliminate self-criticism and doubt. Thanks for a wonderful, inspirational read!
Thank you Linda for reading and replying. Yes, I do believe that inner strength is based on viewpoint and self love is tantumount to glowing with confidence like Oprah.
What and excellent list, Lana! I must agree that with God on my side everything seems much easier (even if it’s not). I really love how you pin pointed trusting your gut. This is one of the key characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, but it also translates to living a successful and happy life. So many people forget to listen to their gut and they end up being burned up or making wrong choices. All the best!
Hi Silvia, yes, yes God and trusting the magnificent being he created as you. My gut has led me through darkness and I really appreciate and am inspired how Oprah talks about it being the thing to trust that will never let you down. Because it knows, it is connected to the Source of Life and knows our unique design. thanks for replying.
Lana, fabulous post. It’s so important for people to feel good in their own bodies and to connect to our own power. Wouldn’t it be great if so many others would step up and in to who they should be?
Bonnie it would be fantastic if many others felt good in their skin and accepted themselves completely. Being connected to God is wonderful. Yes, this world would be so much better. Thanks for replying.
What an important article. My greatest wish is to see a world where women are confidently using their voices to ask for what they want and getting the promotion and recognition they deserve.
I recently spoke to a woman who had been offered a promotion and almost lost the opportunity because she was too afraid to accept it. She didn’t yet have the confidence in herself. She did not view herself as others saw her. I think it is so important to surround ourselves with inspiring mentors like you – who call out the greatness in all of us. Thanks for writing this!
Annette, I so get what you are doing with empowering women to confidently use their voice and admire your work. We tend to think confidence is based on external circumstances but really its self love. Loving yourself enough to take the risk and ask for what you want, even if you don’t think you deserve it. Men do it all the time. The say to themselves, “I’ll figure it out.” I’ve personally seen this, a man get a position he has know experience in and then ask, ask, ask, others for help all without feeling ashamed. At the same time I have seen a woman not attempt to get the position or worse be told “no” because they don’t have the experience required. Sad isn’t it. Keep up your work, many a woman need you. Thanks for replying.
Thanks for sharing a much needed post. I like the tactic you used to display social proof. A lack of confidence is at the root of much self sabotage and missed promotions for many. I’m with you and will continue to empower savvy women and women entrepreneurs to tap into their confidence in God in them, their brilliance and the many ways you shared and more to yield unshakable confidence!
Robin you are ABSOLUTELY correct. A lack of confidence is at the root of much self sabotage and missed promotions for many. I am encouraged by your confidence, I tell you have in spades. What things have you done to have and keep such strong Confidence?
